Hope Autism Care Centre T/A HOPE Childcare is looking to hire 5 qualified and experienced Early Childhood Education or Primary Education Teachers to work in our ASD classes with children between the ages of 3-7 in our Republic of Ireland Centres.
Job Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: 39 hours per week.
Salary: €30,000 per annuum.
Essential Criteria:
The ideal candidate MUST have a passion for working with children with additional needs and all the following:
- Must have minimum degree at Level 8 in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education.
- Have all the documents needed to apply for the Teaching Council Number (or meet criteria to apply for one).
- Qualify for Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth's (DCEDIY) recognition or eligibility letter (Qualification recognition).
- Police report from your country any other countries you may have lived in for more than 6 months as an adult.
- Two written references from current or pass employer or from a reputable organisation (all references must be signed and dated with referee contact details.)
- MUST be proficient in English language.
- Knowledge or certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or Special Education/Inclusion would be an added advantage.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Working within the Early Years’ classes
- Following individual education plans for the children
- General care and safety of the children, including but not limited to monitoring safety, bringing to the toilet, assisting in hygiene routines, cleaning of classroom and work area, making materials.
- Creating lesson plans, writing short term goals for individual and group lessons, designing creative activities related to the themes of the month.
- Taking data, inputting to online systems, other paperwork including but not limited to accident reports, attendance, Aistear, Siolta, School Management Platform, term reports, end of year reports, CLEM (where applicable).
- Assessing and recording children's needs and progress.
- Helping pupils to cope with and overcome problems that arise because of impairments or learning difficulties.
- Developing and fostering the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of pupils.
- Encouraging students to develop self-confidence and independence, and to reach their potential.
- Setting specific, time-related targets for each child and liaising with parents and education professionals.
- Teaching the children, either in a separate room or with the other pupils.
- Adapting the curriculum, teaching strategies, suitable textbooks, information technology and software and other related matters.
- Meeting and advising parents through parents’ teachers meeting
- Liaising with other professionals such as psychologists and speech and language therapists.
- Adapting the National Curriculum and conventional teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Using audio-visual materials and computers to stimulate interest and learning.
- Planning and delivering lessons, setting and marking assignments.
- Taking part in extra-curricular activities like swimming, horse-riding, gymnastics, etc.
- Attending CPD training and all Inservice training sessions.
- Collaborating with administrators on classroom policies and management strategies.
- Implementing behaviour support plans
- Any other relevant duties.
The successful candidate will be required to work within the pre-school ASD classes and to give one-to-one support to children with additional needs, as required.

Please note that it is a requirement for teachers in our ASD classes to be officially recognized by the Teaching Council, Ireland. DCEDIY Requirement
All persons working with children in the early years setting MUST have their qualifications assessed by the DCEDIY and if satisfied an eligibility letter will be issued by them. This is why it is important that you have all your transcripts and certificates ready for this qualification assessment. All Early Childhood and Primary Education qualifications are normally recognised.
